What is the mission of your clothing line, who do you see wearing your clothing?
Clothes you can eat in. It sounds ridiculous I know. Very un-fashiony too but I mean it. They are clothes that you can wear from day to night, that look beautiful, expressive and can also function practically.
Living or dead, who is one designer you would love to work/collaborate with? Why?
Elsa Schiaparelli. For me, her voice in fashion was so different than anyone else at the time- combining art, humor and whimsy with fashion is not the easiest thing you can do. I think she managed it because it was a true reflection/extension of herself. Her design aesthetic really tugs at my heart strings.
You used KickStarter.com to raise money to show in Athens, Greece - What kind of impact do you foresee this having on your brand?
I hope it opens me up to a few stores that I love in Athens, but mostly it has a personal impact. I have a very vivid image of my Yiayia (Grandmother) full of pride, in the front row and that fills me with a massive sense of fulfillment. It would be a dream come true for me.
"We must remember that art is art. Well, on the other hand water is water isn't it? And east is east and west is west. And if you take cranberries and stew then like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now uh… now you tell me what you know."
