After winning Virgin Mobile's “Road to V" competition in 2006, Bombay Bicycle Club have released three albums: their sales are mediocre, their reviews are average; but something about this band keeps the venues booking them and the fans coming in.

Their debut was categorized as “indie-pop,” their sophomore, Flaws, bordered on the soft side of folk, while their most recent album can't really be pinpointed. It's been said to have a bit of Italian house, which may or may not be a compliment. The band admitted to encountering an "identity crisis" while making A Different Kind of Fix. Singer Jack Steadman observed that while most of the album sticks to their usual four-guitars-in-a-room, the single “Shuffle” strays from the tried and tested.

This track has a pop feel, with soft drums and a melodic piano-sample that swirls like a tornado, but doesn't blow you away. As for the identity crisis, pundits have argued that the band never really had an identity in the first place, as they're constantly changing their game, mixing it up and trying new things. That may be what keeps listeners coming back.
