"Erland and the Carnival" are a British folk rock band, formed in London by Simon Tong (formerly of "The Verve," "Blur," and "The Good, The Bad & the Queen,") along with folk singer and guitarist Gawain Erland Cooper, and David Nock drummer/engineer (formerly of "The Orb," "The Cult," and "The Fireman.")

Erland and the Carnival are best known for their contemporary arrangements of traditional Scottish and English folk songs. "This Night," our featured track, bleeds the trio's signature sound and ingenious arrangements and creates common ground between garage psychedelia, folktronica and primitive poetry.
