Fear Not, Fun Is On The Way

- YouTube is hosting its first-ever comedy week from May 19 to May 25, featuring live events, video premieres and festive collaborations.
- Comedians participating include Sarah Silverman, Rainn Wilson, Michael Cera, Vince Vaughn and Seth Rogen.
- Web celebrities such as the Gregory Brothers (the “Auto-Tune the News” crew) and the team behind Epic Rap Battles of History will join in, as will The Onion, Funny or Die, Nerdist and CollegeHumor.
- YouTube has spent millions of dollars developing original programming, which it hopes theme weeks like this comedy offering will help to highlight.
- Comedy week will kick-off with a live, all-star variety show from Los Angeles’ Culver Studios, with stand-up, sketches and musical performances. The show is scheduled to stream live globally on May 19 at 8 p.m. EST, with a special pre-show at 7 p.m.
